PERTH CASUAL JAPANESE TEA & MATCHA
Perth began seeing a rise in luxury Japanese restaurants around the mid-2010s as the city’s growing affluence, there was a shift in culinary trends and an increasing demand for high-end, refined dining locations. This trend of upscale eateries became more prominent in the following years. Naturally, the city started experiencing more and more fine Japanese dining spots. The world-renowned Nobu Japanese restaurant opened its first Perth location in 2017. It is situated at the luxury Crown Perth Resort Complex along beautiful Swan River. Nobu Perth features the signature and high-end Japanese dishes, including dishes like black cod miso, fresh sashimi and sushi. In the late 2010s and early 2020s, Perth saw an increase in smaller yet high-end Japanese restaurants offering omakase (a Japanese-style tasting menu where the chef selects the dishes), izakaya style dining, Japanese teppanyaki and bbq, and okonomi dishes. These Japanese restaurants offer exclusive dining experiences that appeal to a more affluent clientele looking for intimate, luxury meals.
