Osaka holidays in Japan are very popular for those who want to have a truly interesting holiday. As with all destinations in that nation, Osaka uses the Japanese Yen (JPY) as the official currency. However, the numerous attractions in the city are more than enough to offset the fact that one needs to have their money changed over. Nipponbashi, also called Den-Den Town, is a real fixture of the city. Numerous electronics, anime and manga themed stores will certainly be attracting to shoppers on holiday. The Yodobashi Camera center in that area also features restaurants, a Shonen Jump store and fashion outlets.

However, modern stores are not the only reason to travel to Osaka. The oldest Buddhist temple in Japan is to be found in the city. Shitenno-ji was originally built around 593 AD and beckons visitors to have a look at the rich cultural tradition that the city offers. The city is within a humid subtropical climate zone. The winters are often mild, as is early spring. Summers, however, can be quite humid.

Travelers might want to beat the heat by taking the subway or the Nankai Electric Railway to the Namba district. Visitors can enjoy the various restaurants there, or head straight for the Dotonbori canal region. After visiting a Pachinko parlor in Namba, one will surely want to visit the famous Dontonbori landmarks. The neon Gilco Man sign is a perpetual favorite, as is the Kani Doraku Crab. Both are considered important attractions for anyone who visits that part of the city.
